Campeche: One of the Safest Travel Destinations in Mexico, Rated Level 1 (safest) by the United States

Campeche, Mexico. — Campeche continues to establish itself as one of the safest destinations in the country. According to the most recent travel advisory from the U.S. Department of State, the state of Campeche has been designated Level 1: “Exercise Normal Precautions”  the lowest risk level in the entire travel warning system.
This means that Campeche is considered as safe as the most peaceful destinations worldwide, and it shares this category only with Yucatán, making them the only two states in Mexico with this rating.

This international classification reinforces what is already experienced day-to-day: Campeche is a true benchmark of peace. Mexican news outlet Por Esto! recently highlighted that Campeche ranks “among the three safest states in the country,” thanks to its low crime rates, calm atmosphere, and strong coordination between community and government.

A safe, vibrant colonial destination

Anyone walking through the cobblestone streets of the Historic Walled City quickly feels the tranquility that defines Campeche. From its museums and restaurants to its colorful facades and relaxed nightlife, Campeche offers a peaceful and welcoming environment for every type of traveler.

Its growing reputation as a safe destination has increased interest among national and international visitors looking for history, architecture, beaches, culture, and truly authentic experiences.
